We hosted the Türkiye Rail Systems Business Forum, held on 12–13 February 2026, at the TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.
The Türkiye Rail Systems Business Forum 2026 was organized under the hosting of TÜBİTAK RUTE with the participation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Çetin Ali Dönmez, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz, and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın.
The forum, which aims to increase Türkiye’s domestic and national capabilities in rail transportation technologies, brought together public institutions, industry representatives, academics, and sector stakeholders. During the two-day sessions, the current state of the sector, technological developments, and opportunities for collaboration were discussed.
Strategic Collaborations in Rail Systems
Within the scope of the forum, significant cooperation protocols were signed to support the development and wider adoption of domestic technologies in rail systems.
In this context:
- Protocols were signed between TÜBİTAK and TCDD to expand the use of YERLİSİNYAL systems by ensuring their compliance with ERTMS, and to increase the nationwide deployment of Automatic Train Inspection Stations.
- A critical cooperation protocol was implemented between AYGM, ASELSAN, and TÜBİTAK RUTE to promote the widespread use of domestic signaling systems on metro lines.
- Under the protocols signed between TÜBİTAK and TÜRASAŞ, an important step was taken for the URAYSİM Support Cooperation Protocol and the National COCO Locomotive Software Development efforts.
A Strong Step for Domestic and National Rail Technologies
These collaborations carried out within the scope of the Türkiye Rail Systems Business Forum 2026 aim to strengthen Türkiye’s capacity to develop domestic solutions in rail transportation technologies and to enhance technological competence within the sector.
