The "National Train Management and Control System" Project, developed in cooperation with TÜBİTAK Rail Transportation Technologies Institute (RUTE) and TÜRASAŞ, has achieved a great success at the 8th Way of Reason in Transportation Awards. The project, developed with strong human resources and advanced technological studies, was deemed worthy of the "Turkey Special Award" by ITS Turkey.

This meaningful award was presented to TÜBİTAK RUTE Director Dr. Tolgahan Kaya and TÜRASAŞ General Manager Selim Koçbay by Selim Yazıcı, President of UAB-Transportation, Maritime and Communication Research Center. This meaningful award once again demonstrated the point Turkey has reached in intelligent transportation technologies and the added value our institute offers to the sector.

TÜBİTAK RUTE booth shared its work and innovative projects in the field of intelligent transportation systems with the participants at the event, which brought together representatives from the public, private sector and academia. Our institute, which once again demonstrated its determination to develop sustainable, safe and efficient transportation solutions, received full marks from the participants.

On the opening day of the two-day program, Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, and Adil Karaismailoğlu, Former Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, visited the TÜBİTAK RUTE stand and received information about the Institute's activities.

The conference was also an important platform for ITS Turkey to strengthen sectoral collaborations and reinforce Turkey's vision in the field of intelligent transportation systems. Conf-ITS'25, where public and private sector representatives and academicians came together to exchange ideas on future transportation solutions, was recorded as an important event that encouraged Turkey's progress in the field of intelligent transportation systems and sectoral collaborations.

What will the National Train Management and Control System (Mtyks) do?

Implemented with the engineering power of TÜBİTAK RUTE, this system enables the control, command, management and monitoring of all in-train components. MTYKS minimizes potential risks in train management by instantly monitoring the speed, position and movement of trains. Thanks to automatic control mechanisms, driver-related errors can be prevented before they occur.

Thanks to MTYKS, train operations will also become more digital and centralized, while capabilities such as real-time monitoring and data analysis will improve both performance and train safety.

MTYKS, whose hardware and software infrastructure has been developed entirely with domestic resources, will reduce Turkey's foreign dependence on railway technologies and create a more comfortable, safe and efficient transportation infrastructure.
