The opening ceremony of the Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport Metro, whose signalization was realized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK RUTE -ASELSAN, was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The LOCAL SIGNAL-CBTC WSATC system, which is used in the subway and developed by TÜBİTAK RUTE, ensures the safe operation of trains at the fully autonomous driverless GoA4 level, ensuring maximum line capacity. Thanks to this system, which only a few companies in the world can provide, foreign dependency in the signaling and renewal of our country's metro lines will be eliminated, long project schedules and high costs will be prevented. With the expansion of our domestic signaling systems on the main lines and metro lines needed in the coming years, 350 million Euros worth of added value will be provided to our country.
The YERLİSİNYAL-CBTC WSATC system was first commissioned on the Kağıthane - Istanbul Airport section of the Gayrettepe - Istanbul Airport line. The LOCAL SIGNAL-CBTC WSATC system, which is applied to the 34-kilometer-long metro line with a total of 8 metro stations, will expand the line section to be controlled as Gayrettepe - Istanbul Airport - Arnavutköy with three stations to be added in a short time. In 2023, with the extension of the line to Halkalı, the metro line consisting of a total of 66 km and 16 stations will be signalized to allow 120 km/h.
