"Beyond Rail Technologies in the 100th Year of the Republic: Hyperloop" event was organized.
The program was attended by 55 advisors and students from 12 teams from Istanbul, Kocaeli, Konya, Ankara and Trabzon, as well as senior management and Teknofest representatives.
PRESIDENT OF TÜBİTAK AND DIRECTOR OF RUTE MEET WITH STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN HYPERLOOP DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION
Within the scope of the event, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and TÜBİTAK RUTE Director Dr. Tolgahan Kaya came together with the students at the breakfast program.
Emphasizing the critical importance of projects in the transportation sector in achieving Turkey's technological independence goals with the participants, TÜBİTAK President emphasized the importance of Hyperloop technology and answered questions from the participants on the subject. Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal stated that he believes that this technology, on which TÜBİTAK RUTE continues to work, will be one of the world's most important technologies in transportation in the future, and emphasized that TÜBİTAK is working on innovative support mechanisms to support applied research activities in this field.
STUDIES ON HYPERLOOP TECHNOLOGY AND WHAT TO DO WERE DISCUSSED
After the breakfast program, a special session was held, starting with the presentation of the institute and the realizations for 2023 by Dr. Tolgahan Kaya, Director of TÜBİTAK RUTE, and then continuing with the sections where the teams participating in the Hyperloop Development competition in previous years shared their experiences and expectations.
Dr. Tolgahan Kaya, who said that he was very happy to come together with Hyperloop teams for "Beyond Rail Technologies in the 100th year of the Republic", talked about the importance of R&D studies to be carried out in the field of hyperloop technology for Turkey. Emphasizing that the outputs of the R&D studies carried out are milestones in the field, RUTE Manager answered the questions from the participants on the subject.
SPEED TESTS AND TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATIONS AT THE TUNNEL SITE
After the session, the participating students had the opportunity to test their capsules by participating in the Hyperloop Test infrastructure, one of the best infrastructures in Europe, located in TÜBİTAK RUTE campus.
Our students, who tested their vehicles and exhibited the technologies they developed at the event attended by TÜBİTAK President, TÜBİTAK Board Members, RUTE Institute Director and Hyperloop Advisory and Evaluation Board members, left the area by taking a collective souvenir photo after their trials and demonstrations in the tunnel.
